English giants, Manchester United will start their Champions League quest with a Group F game against Young Boys on Tuesday evening. United travel to Bern for their first group stage match after beating Newcastle United 4-1 on Saturday. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace on his second debut for the club while Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard also got on the scoresheet. United are strong favourites to get their Champions League campaign off to the perfect start.
Manchester United were knocked out in the group stage last season but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hope to do better this season. The fans will have high hopes from the club as they have strengthened their squad significantly with the acquisitions of Ronaldo and Varane.
Ronaldo and Varane have been named in the travelling squad to face Young Boys but Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani will miss the match with a "minor injury". Cavani also missed weekend's victory over Newcastle after picking up a knock in training. Dean Henderson, Alex Telles, Phil Jones and Marcus Rashford have also been ruled out.
Meanwhile, Swiss champions Young Boys will be without captain Fabian Lustenberger and last season’s top goal scorer Jean-Pierre Nsame after both players sustained achilles injuries.
