Red Bull achieved outstanding results in the recently concluded Monaco GP. While Sergio Perez claimed his maiden pole position of the season, Max Verstappen settled with third in Sunday's race. Perez's win came on an aggressive tire strategy which put him in a prime position to capitalize on Ferrari's huge tactical blunders.

However, Verstappen's father, Jos Verstappen has expressed his opinion and slammed Red Bull. The senior Verstappen accused Red Bull for prioritizing Perez over his son, which cost him his pole position. In a blog post posted to MaxVerstappen.com, Max's father claimed that "Red Bull achieved a good result, but at the same time exerted little influence to help Max to the front."

"Max owes to Ferrari's mistake at that second stop of Charles Leclerc." According to Jos Verstappen, Max was not helped by the chosen strategy as it turned completely in Perez's favour. "That was disappointing to me, and I would have liked it to be different for the championship leader," he added.

Responding to the allegations, team principal Christian Horner has schooled Max's father by claiming that it was not 'Max Verstappen Racing'. He told Bloomberg, "We are not talking about Sergio Perez Racing or Max Verstappen Racing. It's about Red Bull Racing. The drivers work for the team and bear this responsibility. They must realize that the team's ambitions are greater than their own."

Red Bull chief Helmut Marko backed up Horner's assessment while speaking to Sport1, claiming Perez was not out of the hunt just yet. An almost flawless Perez took the highest score this weekend, having jumped the Ferraris and kept Sainz, plus Red Bull teammate Verstappen, behind on a challenging final stint on graining medium tires.
