Glenn Maxwell and Punjab Kings - it's been a story like never before in history of IPL! After joining the franchise in 2014, the Aussie had some magnificent performances amid a few disappointing ones before leaving in 2017. He returned once again to PBKS in 2020 but had a horrible campaign before getting released by the franchise.

When he was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2021 auction, it was always going to be interesting to see Maxwell playing against his former side this season. It wasn't the re-union the Aussie would have thought of as he was dismissed on a golden duck by Harpreet Brar, when the two sides met in Ahmedabad earlier this season.

Maxwell redeems himself in Sharjah

The stage was set for the face-off once again in Sharjah and this time, RCB needed Maxwell to bail them out of trouble. The all-rounder certainly lived up to the expectations and played a mesmerizing 57-run knock off only 33 deliveries to guide his side to a formidable total of 164/7 in 20 overs. He was the only obstacle for his former franchise and he certainly took his sweet revenge for not retaining him this season.

Reflecting on the situation, the netizens did not miss the opportunity to roll out some hilarious memes to troll Punjab Kings and Preity Zinta. Not only the fans, even the franchise had a funny self-burn moment on Twitter where they shared a meme which stated, "Maxi hum tumko paala hoon," suggesting that the Aussie has spent much of his IPL career playing for Punjab Kings only.
