After a thrilling edition of Matrix Fight Night (MFN) 8 in New Delhi in March, MFN 9 is set to treat its fans in the national capital from June 24. The main event pits Sanjeet Budhwar against Serbian MMA star Dorde Stojanovic in a catchweight contest. Badhwar made his debut back in 2013, competing for the now-defunct Super Fight League; and has won three of them.
Meanwhile, Stojanovic hails from Serbia and has never fought outside of Eastern Europe. He has never competed against experienced opponents, as his five wins have come against amateurs.
Ahead of the big bout, Sanjeet reportedly expressed gratitude for the opportunity to compete at the main event of MFN 9. "I would like to wish Dorde the best wishes, and I am confident I will be able to get the win," he said.
On the other hand, Dorde, too, wished Sanjeet 'all the very best and claimed that he would be coming hard on his opponent and would hope to make the best of the opportunity he got after years of hard work and dedication.
Speaking of the female fighters, Jojo Rakumari and Puja Tomar have been confirmed for the card. Rajkumari will be the co-main event as she has been reportedly matched with undefeated Filipino Mary Jane Buna (3-0) in a straight-eight contest.
