With the Indian Premier League mega auction fast approaching ahead of the 2022 season, each of the franchises has reportedly been asked to submit the list of players they will retain by November 30. The BCCI player retention policy mandates each franchise to retain up to four players in their teams with the remaining players entering the auction. Against the backdrop of this, it is being learned that Mumbai Indians are keen on retaining Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.

Meanwhile, it is further being reported that the Blue and Gold Brigade are looking to buy back Suryakumar Yadav from the auction pool. SKY, it is being claimed, has also been approached by one of the two new teams but has not responded yet.

Furthermore, reports in Indian Express more or less confirm that the Kolkata Knight Riders will be retaining Andre Russell and Sunil Narine in their team. Moreover, they are still in negotiation with Varun Chakravarthy along with Venkatesh Iyer and Shubman Gill.

KL Rahul to leave Punjab Kings: Reports

In another major claim as per the same report, KL Rahul is likely to leave Punjab Kings. It is also being reported that he has accepted the offer to join the new Lucknow franchise, the name of the team is yet to be confirmed. With all sorts of speculations around MS Dhoni's IPL future, the report says that Chennai will indeed retain him along with Ravindra Jadeja and Ruturaj Gaikwad. There are deliberations happening around who will be the fourth retention pick with either of Moeen Ali or Sam Curran likely to make the cut.

As far as the Delhi Capitals are concerned, they are reportedly looking to retain Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Axar Patel and Anrich Nortje. This comes after there were already speculations in place that Shreyas is looking beyond Delhi Capitals since they have decided to stick with Pant as the skipper. Shreyas is looking at a leadership role in an IPL franchise and with two new teams looking for a captain and few others looking to rebuild squads around a leader, he could grab a few eyeballs.
