Mumbai Indians have won their 1st match in 2nd phase of IPL 2021 after 3 consecutive defeats. The defending champions have bounced back in style finally against the Punjab Kings side with the help of Kieron Pollard's all-round show. Punjab were invited to bat by the Mumbai side after winning the toss and they were struggling at 50/4 after end of 8 overs, but post that setback Aiden Markram and Deepak Hooda stitched a good 61-run partnership from 47 balls and took PBKS to a formidable total of 135 on a slowish Abu Dhabi wicket.
Mumbai Indians initially were struggling to chase down the total of 136 runs and at one stage it looked like PBKS can pull off this game like they did against SunRisers few days back by defending a small total of 125 runs. MI, despite the initial setback, got going in the later stage of game with help of Saurabh Tiwary's anchoring role. In the final overs, Pollard and Hardik Pandya finished the job for them and won this game by a 6-wicket margin.
