Michael Vaughan and  Zaheer Khan revealed what changes could India make in their final T20I against England on Saturday. The former English cricketer suggested that Men in Blue should drop KL Rahul and bring in Ishan Kishan instead. The veteran expressed his views following the conundrum in the Indian batting opening order that has seen three unique combinations so far. Moreover, with KL Rahul failing to get the much-needed form back, Vaughan feels that Kishan will be the right opener for the team.

Vaughan suggests dropping Rahul for Mumbai Indians' opening pair

The Karnataka stalwart has scored just 15 runs in his last 5 games. On the other hand, Ishan Kishan fired India to a crucial win on his debut when he opened the innings. While Michael Vaughan did put forth a valid point, the clever Englishman did not miss to slide in an IPL reference. Talking to panel member Zaheer Khan, who is Director of Operations for Mumbai Indians, Vaughan was quick to point out -

“For me, KL Rahul is not being thrown out of the team forever but at this stage, he is not playing to the confidence, he is struggling for form, so Ishan Kishan will come in to open the batting with Rohit. More Mumbai Indians, there you go.”

While the former Indian speedster had a good laugh at it, he could not rule out the truth in the statement. However, Zaheer Khan mentioned his reluctance not only about KL Rahul, but also Washington Sundar. The veteran stated how the all-rounder failed to make an impact last time out, conceding 52 runs without any wickets. Suggesting the remedy for the same, Zaheer Khan put forward Axar Patel's name as the replacement. The 5th and the last T20I will be the series decider as the score between the hosts and the visitors remains 2-2.
