There is some good news for the Delhi Capitals fans. According to reports, Mitchell Marsh who was ruled out of Australia’s limited over series against Pakistan will be traveling to India to join DC’s camp and will also complete his recovery in India itself. He will be the second player to continue his rehabilitation with DC as South Africa pacer Anrich Nortje is still recovering from his injury and is likely to you be available from April 7.

The Australian all-rounder had suffered a low-grade hip flexor injury in Lahore. As Marsh is not taking part in the white-ball series going on between Australia and Pakistan he will now straight away travel to India and will start his recovery after finishing quarantine. He will recover under the guidance of Delhi Capitals physio Patrick Farhart who is also monitoring Nortje’s progress.

“Being able to focus on my recovery without the travel and isolation break is the best approach. I am disappointed to miss the Pakistan series but look forward to re-joining the Australian squad for our next tour,” Marsh said in a Cricket Australia statement on Wednesday.

Boost to DC’s campaign

This comes as a massive boost to Delhi Capital’s IPL 2022 campaign as Marsh is set to play a key role in Delhi’s batting lineup. With Marcus Stoinis gone, the Delhi management will rely heavily on Marsh to get the job done with the bat and also chip in with some wickets with the ball. The 32-year-old was in great form before the T20 world cup in 2021 and also played a key role in Australia winning their first T20 World Cup title.

Apart from Marsh, David Warner is also not available as he had to fly back to Australia after the Test series was concluded. Delhi Capitals had only two of their seven overseas players available for their first game against Mumbai Indians. Nonetheless, they won the game. For DC’s next game against Gujarat Titans, they will have Mustafizur Rahaman and Lungi Ngidi available.
