In a significant development, Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has signed an updated three-year contract with the club. While The Reds have confirmed that they have retained the striker on a new ‘long-term contract,’ there is yet no official notification on the validity of the deal.

As per reports, the forward is set to earn £350,000 per week, making him the highest-paid player at Anfield. Speaking on his contract extension, Mohamed Salah stated: "It's a happy day for everyone and he is excited to win trophies for the club." While speaking at the club's official website, Salah said, "It takes a little bit of time, I think, to renew, but now everything is done so we just need to focus on what's next. I think you can see in the last five or six years the team was always going."

The striker further claimed that the club has roped in some exciting players in the camp and the side needs to keep working hard. "Last season we were close to winning four, but unfortunately in the last week of the season, we lost two trophies. We just need to keep working hard, have a good vision, be positive and go for everything again," he was quoted.

The 30-year-old also requested fans to stay behind the club and provide much-needed backing to all the players to win trophies again. “My message to the fans is that the players in the team want to give our best next season to try to win all the trophies. As usual, you stay behind us and give us a big push and I am sure we are going to win trophies again," he said.

Notably, Mohamed Salah has been at Anfield for the last five years and has been a vital part of Jurgen Klopp's playing XI. Salah has made 254 appearances for the Reds since joining from AS Roma in 2017 and netted 156 goals. He has guided Liverpool to end their Premier League drought and also won the Champions League, among other trophies.
