Winger Mohamed Salah is likely to follow his former teammate Sadio Mane and leave Liverpool in this year’s summer transfer window. As per various reports, the Egyptian footballer has failed to make any headway with the club regarding higher salary negotiations for almost a year. Sources that Salah has demanded to sign a new deal which includes wages of around £400,000 a week.
Mohamed Salah has scored 31 goals for Liverpool in the last season and ended the season as the joint top scorer in the Premier League along with Tottenham forward Son Heung-min. Both wingers scored 23 goals apiece and jointly share the top individual award.
But before Liverpool’s Champions League final in May 2022, Mohamed Salah reaffirmed his commitment to the club for the 2022-23 season. The attacker talked about how he has one more year left on his contract with the Merseyside club when questions were raised about his long-term future at Anfield.
Mohamed Salah told reporters, “I am just focused on the team and don’t want to talk about my contract. But I am staying next season for sure, that’s for sure. In my mind, I don’t focus on the contract at the moment. I don’t want to be selfish. I said two months ago, it’s all about the team now.”

Mohamed Salah’s departure could provide the Reds’ new signing Darwin Nunez with a bigger responsibility. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed his excitement about working with Nunez. “This is super news, really super news,” Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com. “
