It is often said that sports teach us lot of life lessons, which is one of the reasons why it is such an integral part of our school curriculum right from childhood. Some of the most common values like team work, ethics, integrity, discipline, respect etc. can be learnt while playing sports. However, another special way of imparting knowledge is by sharing the journeys of various sportsperson.

Athletes are often considered as stars in a country, with many youngsters idolizing them for the way they play on the field. In an exciting turn of events, the same craze and affection is now being used by schools to motivate the young kids to achieve great things in life. Recently, a picture of a school textbook had gone viral on social media which had a chapter on former Indian cricketer MS Dhoni.

The journeys of players coming from a small town/village to eventually become an international star is undoubtedly the best way to motivate any young kid who wants to succeed in life. Something very similar has now been done in Egypt to teach the children about hardships, struggle and hard work in a brilliant way.

Salah's life to be taught in schools

As reported by The Times, Salah's life has been added to the national curriculum in Egypt in the hope that it will 'spur on students to greater things'. Notably, there will be lessons on Salah's incredible football career for both primary and secondary schools (in English-language textbooks) across the country.

While the 29-year-old is undoubtedly an epitome of success with everything that he has achieved on the football field in his career, his actions off the field are nothing short of inspirational. "Salah’s desire to help others is because he wants to give young people a chance to succeed," the secondary school book reportedly says.

An inspiration both on and off the field

Apart from all the goals and assists Salah has scored, he has been instrumental in improving the quality of life in his country, especially Nagrig (his birthplace). He has played a key role in funding of various projects, which includes development of new girls’ school, a water treatment centre and an ambulance unit. The football star has often been seen taking part in various charity and donation drives for orphans and everyone in need.

The journey of a boy from a small town in Egypt to playing for one of the biggest clubs in England & further becoming one of the best footballers in world, journey of Salah will surely inspire so many young kids who will learn about him in schools across the country.
