‘Catches win you matches’, and what better time to take a stunner when your team is trying to get rid of a tailender and win the match. Mohammad Rizwan did it for Pakistan. He helped his team in gaining an upper hand in the match when they needed it the most. The importance of the catch could be understood from the celebration by Pakistan's players.

It was the last day of the first Test between Pakistan and West Indies. Pakistan had set a small target of 168 for the Windies in the fourth innings. However, their bowlers made the target look bigger with timely wickets. But things started to take a turn for the worse when the West Indies' tailenders started showing resistance and Pakistan had to sweat hard to get rid of them.

In the 53rd over of the West Indies' innings, Jomel Warrican was facing Hasan Ali when the latter bowled a bouncer. Warrican tried to make the most of it by pulling it towards the mid-wicket region but he rather top-edged the shot and the ball went high in the air. Mohammad Rizwan, who was standing behind the wickets took the responsibility to catch the ball and ran all the way from his position to fine leg to complete the diving catch. Rizwan covered a lot of ground in no time and dived to pouch the ball safely. Rizwan's catch helped Pakistan break the ninth-wicket stand between Roach and Warrican.

West Indies won the match by one wicket

When Rizwan took a screamer, there was only one wicket left for Pakistan to seal the match. The visitors couldn't have thought about losing from that point. However, it did happen.

After Warrican departed, debutant Jayden Seales walked out to partner Roach. West Indies still needed 17 runs to finish the game and it seemed like a difficult task. But Roach and Seales turned the game in the favour of the hosts and won the match for their team.
