Today's date marks the 14-year anniversary of India's remarkable win in the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007. India had defeated arch-rivals Pakistan in the final to lift the World Cup. Later, Dhoni led India to win the 2011 World Cup as well as the 2013 Champions Trophy but it was the T20 win that ushered a whole new era in Indian cricket.

On the 14th anniversary of India's T20 World Cup win, London-based One One Six Networks have announced their maiden project titled "Haq se India"- a movie revolving around this winning campaign from the Indian team. It is being reported that the film will be released on OTT platforms and will use a different storytelling style. The music for the movie is going to be produced by the renowned duo of Salim-Sulaiman.

2007 marked the beginning of our dominance in world cricket: Bahirwani

"If 1983 made us the world champions for the first time, then 2007 marked the beginning of our dominance in world cricket, and it continues. Haq Se India is the celebration of our heroes from the 2007 T20 world cup squad. I am very excited to start our celluloid journey with this special project and I sincerely hope that this film and our title track will win the hearts of the audience,"  quoted Bahirwani.

Notably, India's win in this tournament in South Africa marked the beginning of India's global dominance in this period. It also announced the arrival of captain cool MS Dhoni who later went to become a legend of Indian cricket. It was India's Yuvraj Singh who smashed six sixes in an over against England in this tournament which also saw the first glimpse of Rohit Sharma match-winning fifty in a must-win game against South Africa.

For all the abovementioned reasons and many more, the win will always remain special in the hearts and minds of Indian fans.
