MS Dhoni dons Shimla'

Former India captain MS Dhoni and his wife are currently on a vacation. While the Chennai Super Kings star was earlier spotted spending quality time at his farm house in Ranchi, he is now enjoying his time in Shimla after the state government decided to lift the COVID-19 restrictions after fewer number of positive cases in recent days. Consequently, travellers don’t compulsorily need a COVID report to enter the state as the threat from the second wave of the pandemic in the country has subsided significantly.

And now many pictures of Dhoni and family’s vacation are surfacing on the internet. In one such picture, the World Cup-winning skipper was seen wearing Shimla’s traditional cap. The headgear is locally called 'Kullu Topi' and is a significant part of a local male member’s dress.

Fans gathered outside Dhoni’s hotel in Shimla

As soon as Dhoni’s fans received confirmation of his homestay at Shimla, crowds gathered in huge numbers outside to get a glimpse of their favourite cricketer. Such was the madness outside that MSD had to change his planned area of stay but not before signing a few autographs and clicking a few photographs with them.

IPL 2021 resumes in UAE

On the work front, Dhoni will be back to leading the Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League 2021 when the season resumes in the United Arab Emirates. While the tournament was supposed to culminate in May, the emergence of several COVID-19 cases inside the teams’ bio-secure bubbles across venues in India led to the postponement of the tournament.
