Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has become a shareholder in India’s leading drone start-up Garuda Aerospace. The Chennai-based company has roped in MS Dhoni to be their Brand Ambassador and shareholder in their organisation.

While talking about his association with Garuda, MS Dhoni said, "I’m happy to be a part of Garuda Aerospace and look forward to witness their growth story with the unique drone solutions they have to offer.” Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of the Garuda Aerospace expressed his excitement about their partnership with India’s 2011 World Cup-winning captain, "I've always been an Ardent Admirer of Mahi Bhai & to have him as a part of the Garuda Aerospace family is honestly a dream come true".

He added by saying, "Mahi Bhai is the epitome of Dedication & I firmly believe that having Captain Cool on our Cap table adds tremendous value which will motivate our team to perform better. Garuda Aerospace has been a pioneer in the Indian Drone Ecosystem & is firmly on the path to become India's 1st ever Drone Unicorn Start-up”.

Garuda Aerospace currently have 300 drones & 500 pilots operating in 26 cities. Their newest drone manufacturing facilities were recently launched by Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This company is not Mahi’s first startup investment either. The four-time IPL champion has been an investor in the cars marketplace unicorn Cars24, Khatabook, HomeLane, and 7InkBrews, among others.

But for MS Dhoni, the 2022 IPL season was a disappointment as CSK finished second last in the league. But Dhoni promised the fans that he along with the team will make a strong comeback next season. He said, "Definitely, I will play next year. It would be unfair to not play in Chennai. It won't be nice to the CSK fans. Whether 2023 will be my last year or not, that is something we will have to see."

"And also, hopefully, next year there will be an opportunity where the teams will be travelling so it will be like a thank you to all the different places where we will be playing games at different venues. Whether it will be my last year or not, that's a big question because you know we can't really predict something two years down the line, but definitely, I'll be working hard to come back strong next year."
