Chennai Super Kings are back to where they belong - top of the table. The MS Dhoni-led side registered a thumping victory against David Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad. Notably, like Royal Challengers Bangalore, who registered their fifth win in a row, CSK also registered their fifth straight win to replace Kohli’s side in the points table.

However, after this seven-wicket win, skipper MS Dhoni revealed the difference between the side which is currently playing in the IPL and their performance in the previous edition.

What went wrong for CSK in IPL 2020?

The Yellow Army skipper MS Dhoni in the post match presentation finally opened up on the problem they faced in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League. “Brilliant opening partnership” the captain quoted citing what has been different for the side in the ongoing edition.

"Whenever you start the tournament, you may or may not face issues in playing XI. The earlier you settle the better. Another factor was 5-6 months we were out of cricket. Nothing was allowed. It's not that you could go on your own and practice. That also makes it difficult. Change of quarantine, was slightly longer. Lot of factors. Overall if I have to sum it up, the players have taken more responsibility this year," the skipper quoted.

His statement come after back-to back performance from the openers of CSK in the form of youngster Ruturaj Gaikwad & veteran Faf du Plessis. The duo stitched 129-run partnership in today’s game to take the side back on top.

Chennai Super Kings will now face defending champions Mumbai Indians on May 1 in Delhi.
