Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the most followed and loved celebrities in India. While he has already retired from international cricket, his popularity has not dipped down even a bit. People often keep a closer look at what he is doing and where he is going and at his first glimpse ask for photographs or autographs. Recently, Dhoni went for a trip to Shimla with his friends and family and as soon as the tourists and local population realised where MSD was staying, they crowded around that space but Dhoni did not break their hearts as he obliged for a few pics and signatures.

And in a picture now trending on social media, the former India captain, could be seen wearing the retro Indian blue navy blue jersey. While Dhoni does not get to don the blues on the cricket field anymore, he used the India jersey during an advertisement shoot. The picture has since gone viral on internet.

Prior to the IPL 2021 resumption, Dhoni is gearing up for a charity football event which also features some of the leading stars from Bollywood including Ranveer Singh. The actor, who has gone on record multiple times admitting that he is a Dhoni fan, was seen hugging the cricketer from Ranchi and enjoying a light moment with him.

Even last year, when MSD had announced his retirement from international cricket, Ranveer had shared a few throwback pictures with the star cricketer and attached a long heartfelt note on social media. He had also recalled the first time he met his icon and felt amazed.

Dhoni will be back leading the Chennai Super Kings when the Indian Premier League resumes in the United Arab Emirates in September. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the remainder of the schedule on Sunday with the El Clasico of IPL- the Mumbai Indians versus the Chennai Super Kings- clash set to resume the competition on September 19. The remaining 31 matches are to be played across three venues- Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
