While Mahendra Singh Dhoni's side, CSK, is having a tough time in the tournament as defending champions are standing on the verge of the elimination, his wife Sakshi Dhoni has voiced her opinion on excessive power cuts in the state of Jharkhand amidst severe heatwaves in the summer. The wife of the former Indian skipper also asked the state government the reason behind the situation for so many years.

Taking to Twitter on Monday, Sakshi wrote, "As a taxpayer of Jharkhand wants to know why is there a power crisis in Jharkhand since so many years? We are doing our part by consciously making sure we save energy!" Notably, there are reports of severe coal shortage in the country and increasing heatwaves have worsened the situation.

Currently, the state's demand is more than 2500 MW. The entire responsibility is on two units of TVNL (Tenughat Vidyut Nigam Limited), which is currently generating about 350 MW. Due to the power crisis, industries and business establishments are being affected by common people.

Meanwhile, Union Minister for Power RK Singh met Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to discuss measures to enhance efficiency in coal transport to power plants. RK Singh asked the stakeholders at the Centre and state levels to work hand in hand for an unhindered power supply. He instructed the Power Gencos to own freight rakes under the scheme of the Ministry of Railways to deal with logistic constraints in coal supply.

The meeting was virtually joined by the representatives from Coal and Power PSUs and the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni represents Chennai Super Kings in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League and is going through a tough time after losing six out of eight games in the tournament.

Defending champions are currently placed at 9th position in the points table and will face the elimination from the playoffs if they go through any more defeats. Their next task will be against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 1 at MCA, Pune.
