Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, three prominent franchises have added a new player each in their squad. With just eight days for the mega-event to begin, some major players have pulled out of the tournament due to various reasons. However, some franchises have roped in big players like England batsman Jason Roy ahead of the cash-rich league.

The five-time champions Mumbai Indians have added Digvijay Deshmukh as net bowler for IPL 2021. The 22-year-old Digvijay made his T20 debut in November 2019 and was bought by the Mumbai franchise ahead of IPL 2020.

The runners-up of IPL 2020, Delhi Capitals have roped in Kulwant Khejroliya as a net bowler. The Delhi left-arm pacer made his IPL debut against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2018. He was last seen in the mega-tournament against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2019. He has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore as well as Mumbai Indians, but will be donning the Delhi jersey in IPL 2021.

Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore have also called for Akash Deep as a net bowler ahead of IPL 2021. The fast-bowler made his T20 debut in 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Bengal.

How was IPL 2020 for these franchises?

Mumbai Indians went on to lift the title for the fifth time, whereas Delhi Capitals who played the finals against Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai finished the season as runners-up. However, Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore qualified for the playoffs but failed to make it to the finals once again.
