It is safe to say that it feels like the outbreak of fans inside the football stadium has become a regular feature. The latest incident to justify this claim occurred when Napoli and Leicester City fans got involved in a brawl at the King Power Stadium in the Europa League Clash on Thursday.
Trailing by 0-2 in the game, the Italian side Napoli came back roaring in the competition, courtesy to Victor Osimhen’s brace in the second half. Not only did it seem to trigger the home fans, but also filled the travelling spectators with some added energy and they could not handle the comeback very well. The fans of both these sides were seen throwing objects at one another, after which the Napoli spectators were held inside the stadium to maintain police and public safety.

The heat seemed to have started when Osimhen’s 87th equalizing goal celebration seemed to have not gone all too well with the Leicester fans. To add salt to the burn, Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi was sent off in the stoppage time, after he received his second yellow card of the game.
Having said that, after the violence took place between the two set of fans, the police and security staff had to intervene. As a result, nine men were arrested for the same.
"Shortly before 6 pm, police received a report of a fight taking place in Millstone Lane involving fans of Napoli and Leicester City," the police said in a statement on Friday as quoted by Reuters in a report. "Eight men, identified as Napoli fans, were arrested at the scene in connection with the incident. Following further enquiries, a 27-year-old man from Leicester was later arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. All men remain in custody at this time."
Furthermore, the Leicestershire Police also revealed that they had collected the objects which were thrown by the fans at one another. To be precise, the police stated that eight Napoli fans and a 27-year-old man from Leicester were detained following a street fight about a mile away from the stadium.
