The Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics go head to head in the NBA finals after a gruelling 2021-22 NBA season. Both teams have played each other twice this season where both franchises have won one game each. The Celtics enter this matchup after defeating the Miami Heat at the FTX Arena. Three out of the five Boston starters scored 20 points or more, whereas Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for 50 points in the defeat.

They are averaging 107.1 points on 45.4%  shooting as they have the best offensive rating. They are hitting 36.2% from 3-point land and 81%  from the free-throw line. Defensively they are placed second as they are allowing 101.0 points.

Similarly, Golden State Warriors take on Boston after defeating the Dallas Mavericks 127-100 led by Klay Thompson’s 32 points along with three assists and two rebounds. GSW are averaging 114.5 points while shooting 49.3% from the field, 37.9% from deep and 75.5%  from the free-throw line. Defensively they are allowing 105.5 points.

Golden State Warriors: Otto Porter Jr., Andre  Iguodala, Gary Payton II and James Wiseman are listed on the injury list as they missed their previous game.

Boston Celtics: Sam Hauser has been out because of a shoulder injury as he missed the Miami Heat game and could miss the next match as well. 

Analysis:

The Boston Celtics and the Golden State Warriors have been the best teams in the tournament. Both teams are built on a similar principle as they both have two prominent scorers with a vocal and defensive leader. For GSW the duo of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson continued to wreak havoc with Draymond Green being their defensive anchor. Whereas for Boston, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have been unstoppable with the defensive player of the year Marcus Smart.
