Former India captain and one of the greatest cricketers of all time, Virat Kohli completed 15 years since his debut in international cricket on August 18, Friday. Kohli made his debut in an ODI game against Sri Lanka, and in his first game, young and flamboyant Kohli scored 12 off 22 deliveries. 


Though the game saw the Indian side losing by an eight-wicket margin, nobody knew a revolution was about to begin in the cricketing spectrum. As the Delhi boy achieved this historic milestone, his fans took over the internet to congratulate him for the same. 

Since his first match in India colours, the 34-year-old has scored 25,582 runs with a combination of 76 hundreds, averaging 53.63. Speaking of various formats of the sport, Kohli emerged as one of the top run scorers over the years. In Test format, the Royal Challengers Bangalore batter stands in the fifth spot of highest runs for India. Having made his debut in 2011, Kohli represented India in 111 Tests with 8,676 runs in his account. 

In the ODI format, Kohli has scored 12,898 runs in 275 ODIs with an average of 57.32. Whereas in the shortest format, Virat has a total of 4,008 runs in 115 T20I games he played for India.   To mark the cricketer’s 15 years in international cricket, fans took over the internet and in no time, #15YearsOfKingKohli started trending on Twitter in no time. 





Notably, Kohli is the fifth-highest run scorer in international cricket, and with numerous records, he has broken and created, the cricketing icon was awarded the ICC 'Player of the Decade' award in 2011-20.
