New Zealand Women will once again play against Australia Women, now in a 3-match ODI series. The T20I series was shared by the two teams as the third game was called off due to rain. The two Trans-Tasman sides ended on a stalemate as the series read 1-1.
New Zealand suffered a big blow as Frankie Mackay has been ruled out of the ODI series because of a partial tear in her right calf. She is a vital all-rounder for the White Ferns and the void caused by her absence will be very hard to fill in. New Zealand came back strongly in the 2nd T20I to level the series and won the game by 4 wickets. Amelia Kerr had scored 36 and her innings was laced with 4 boundaries. Sophie Devine will be another marquee player of this game as she has scored 2697 runs at an average of 31 in ODIs.
Australia Women are a force to reckon with when it comes to ODI. They are the number 1 team in the list of rankings and recently also whitewashed the White Ferns in the previous ODI series they had played. Rachael Haynes had bagged the Women of the Series award for her stupendous performance in the series and she will be a marquee player in this series. Ashleigh Gardner too is a player to watch out for as she had notched up a brilliant 73 in the 1st T20I of this tour.
