Jensen Button’s first race will take place on March 26, then he will drive at the new Chicago Street course on July 2 and then the Indianapolis Road Course on August 13. This will be the former Red Bull driver’s second NASCAR stint as he has participated in the 24 hours of Le Mans with Hendrick Motorsports.

In NASCAR, Button will be driving with No. 15 Mobil 1 Ford Mustang, a number which has seen many victories with legendary drivers like Dale Earnhardt, Bobby Allison, Buddy Baker and Clint Bowyer.

This NASCAR opportunity throws light on Button’s career after Formula One which includes competing in multiple different motorsport categories across the world. The 43-year-old has a title in Japan’s Super GT title, a World Endurance Championship stint with the SMP LMP1 project and has also appeared in British GT, Extreme E and Nitro Rallycross, which were with his own teams.

Reacting to this new development, Jensen Button expressed excitement about once again working with Mobil 1, with whom he has had successful F1 and Super GT stints. Button said, "I won the world championship with Mobil 1, and 14 of my 15 wins in Formula One were with Mobil 1, as well as winning the Super GT championship with them. We've had a really close relationship over the years and I can't think of a better partner."
