While India have been a dominant force in ODI cricket in the last four decades or so, Bangladesh cricket team came through the ranks in the format, during the similar timeframe. These two teams first played a 50 overs match against each other in 1988, which the Indian cricket team won by a comprehensive margin of nine wickets.

Bangladesh needed 16 years to register their first victory against their neighbours in ODIs, which is still considered as one of their greatest cricketing triumphs ever. Since then, they have won seven matches in total in the 50 overs cricket against Team India, but at the same time, they have lost to them a whopping 31 times too.

The Indian cricket team has dominated Bangladesh in all formats of the game, but, in recent years, their upcoming opposition in the Asia Cup 2023 have made giant strides as a cricketing nation too. With that, SportsTiger looks back at the three biggest wins for India against Bangladesh in ODIs by runs.

The third biggest win for India in ODIs against Bangladesh came during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 quarter-final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne. After MS Dhoni won the toss and batted first, the Indian cricket team were struggling to score runs at a fair clip for the majority of their batting innings, with a score of 115-3 after 28 overs.

But, after surviving a contentious no-ball call, the opener Rohit Sharma cut loose, and scored a fantastic 137 off 126 to help propel the Indian score past 300 in their allotted 50 overs. The bowlers of Team India didn’t let the Bangladesh batters dictate terms to them at any stage in their innings, before bundling them out for 193 to earn a massive 109 run victory and a place in the semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
