International cricketers receive a lot of limelight. Not only on the field but even off it which is the reason even their minutest details put on the public forum becomes a matter of scrutiny by the fans and the people at large. In the day and age of social media, it is quite common to see cricketers getting trolled on the internet by people for all sorts of reasons- be it their performance on the field or sometimes their own social media posts.

The same is common with all public figures and the commissioner of Kanpur Raj Shekhar became the latest victim of social media trolling. This happened when he posted a picture of himself trying to cook Poha. However, the Twitterati pointed out that he had in fact not lit the gas stove leading to hilarious tweets.

Check out the tweet:

Here are 3 instances when cricketers were trolled for their social media posts-

1. Umar Akmal

Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal simply had to be on the list as his social media post was turned into a meme in no time and even before Umar might have realised his mistake on the caption, the post had gone viral. Sharing a picture of himself with former teammate Abdur Razzak, Umar had written: "Mother from another brother" a hilarious botch-up of the phrase "Brother from another mother."

"If being a crime is handsome then arrest me," one user tweeted.

"Policy is the best honesty," tweeted another while sharing a screenshot of the post.

2. Sachin Tendulkar

India cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar is usually all about grace and class and prefers to stay away from controversy but it needed the world cricket governing body- the International Cricket Council to troll the legendary batter often celebrated as the God of Crickey especially in India.

While the retired cricketer shared a video of himself in which he was seen bowling at the nets to his childhood friend and former national and Mumbai teammate Vinod Kambli, ICC noticed that he was in fact bowling no-balls and quickly shared a picture of umpire Steve Buckner signalling no-ball with the caption: "Watch your front foot, @sachin_rt ?."

3. David Warner

David Warner loves his time with social media. Time and again he has put out hilarious stuff on social media and has been trolled. But the Aussie loves a bit of banter and does not mind getting trolled. With a huge fan base in South India having played for the SunRisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League, the southpaw shares edited videos from the movies in that part of the country in which often the lead actor's face is swapped by his. These reach Warner through fans who tag him and Warner posts the best ones on social media.

In one such incident, Warner had said I Love to his wife Candice in Telugu which got the SRH fans rooting as he shared an animated pic of himself along with his spouse. In the picture, Warner can be seen holding Candice in a romantic pose lifting her off the ground. But Warner's fellow Aussie cricketer Harry Conway wrote: "As if you are that tall."
