Preview:

Two exciting matches and here we are, eagerly waiting for the much-anticipated third T20I. After the home team steamrolled the visitors in the first game, Sri Lanka staged a comprehensive comeback to save the third game from being a dead rubber. Both teams have not been in the best of form of late and a win in this series would load them up with sufficient confidence and conviction ahead of the showpiece event in India in October 2021. It's a must-win game for both teams and hence, this calls for some frenzied and exciting action.

Analysis:

With a handsome victory in the second match, Sri Lanka proved they are not pushovers. After conceding six sixes in a single over to Kieron Pollard, Akila Dananjaya came out all guns blazing and bowled tidy overs in the next game. He picked up 1 wicket and conceded just 13 runs in his 4 overs.  Meanwhile, Danushka Gunathilaka played a power-packed knock of 56 runs off just 42 deliveries. Sri Lanka have not directly qualified to the Super 12s of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and hence they will have to fight it out in the qualifiers. They badly need a victory in this series to boost their morale up.

West Indies undoubtedly take pride in the T20I format. They are the only team to have won the World Cup twice and are vying for the third title. They’ve made some strong changes to their squad and here they are potential favorites if they can fine-tune certain things. Pollard’s blitzkrieg in the 1st T20I was met with a lot of praise as he joined the ranks of Yuvraj Singh, to be the only batsmen to hit 6 sixes in an over in T20Is. However, Windies lost their last game and should be on their toes. The form of veteran Fidel Edwards should be a major concern for them as he has just picked up 1 wicket in 2 games and conceded 19 runs in 2 overs in the last game.
