IPL 2024 mini auction is all set to happen on 19th December in Dubai where we will be witnessing a lot of overseas players being bought at high prices. Notably few of the overseas players have been retained by teams, who weren’t seen playing IPL 2023. Here, in this article we will have a look on five overseas players who can return to 2024 IPL after not being part of IPL 2023.
1. Travis Head
Travis Head was seen playing two IPL seasons for RCB in 2016 & 2017 and after looking at his great performance as an opener in 2023 World Cup, he will be definitely a hot buy in IPL 2024 mini-auction. He will return to play IPL after missing out six seasons from 2018-2023 as he has registered his name for a base price of INR 2 Crore in this auction.

2. Mitchell Starc
Mitchell Starc was last seen playing IPL for RCB in 2015 and after that he never played any of the remaining eight IPL editions from 2016 to 2023. Starc has shown interest to play the cash-rich league, seeing the T20 World Cup ahead after a long time as he has registered himself in the auction for the base price of INR 2 Crore. He is expected to go for a good price as there is always a high demand for left-arm pacers.

3. Pat Cummins
Australian skipper Pat Cummins missed out on playing IPL 2023 to focus on winning tournaments like WTC 2023, Ashes and 2023 Cricket World Cup. Cummins was associated with Kolkata Knight Riders in the last three IPL seasons from 2020 to 2022 and after that he will be once again seen in the mini-auction, where he set his base price as INR 2 Crore.

4. Jonny Bairstow
Jonny Bairstow missed out on playing the entire IPL 2023 as he failed to get NOC from the England Cricket Board last year. He missed out on playing many high-profile games for the Three Lions due to an unfortunate leg injury that he suffered in September 2022.
Jonny Bairstow has been retained by PBKS for the 2024 edition, thus he is expected to be seen in action in IPL 2024.

5. Daryl Mitchell
Daryl Mitchell performed brilliantly with the bat in 2023 Cricket World Cup. Hence, the middle order batter is expected to be in demand for the IPL 2024 auction, as many franchises would require a solid batter for their side. Daryl Mitchell played two games in IPL 2022 and once again he is expected to play in the 2024 edition.
