Being one of the franchise cornerstones at the Lucknow Super Giants, Hooda went from an India probable to a bench warmer through the previous season. Spin-bowling big hitter emerged as part of the LSG top-four after a successful 2022 season. But in 2023, Hooda scored 69 runs in 11 games while averaging just 6.9 and was out of the playing XI. But with season-ending injuries to both of these bowlers, Archer couldn’t lead the MI pace battery as he struggled with form and more injuries. The Englishman picked two wickets across five games and conceded runs at a rate of 9.50. Stokes played two games and scored only 18 runs without bowling in his brief stint 2023 IPL season. Hence, Ben Stokes may also be without an IPL team in the 2024 season.
