Team India is toying with Sri Lankan bowlers as the Men in Blue is nearing 300 in just 40 overs. While openers Rohit Sharma (88) and Shubman Gill (70) provided a brilliant start, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul are keeping the momentum going as the duo has stitched up a fifty partnership in no time. The 34-year-old scored his 65th fifty in just 47 balls to continue his remarkable form in limited-overs cricket.
Kohli brought up his fifty with a flat six through cow corner in the 36th over. With the half-century, the former Indian skipper also became the fastest batter to complete 12500 runs in ODIs.
Twitter couldn't keep calm as they witnessed another masterclass from the King.
Check out the reactions:
Soon after Virat's half-century, the batter got a reprieve as he got dropped in the next over by wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis. With 7 wickets still in hand, Team India is eyeing the 400-mark on a wicket, which isn't providing much assist to the bowlers.
