Former India cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra has suffered a loss of INR 33.3 lakh to cricket shoe businessman Kamlesh Parikh and his son Dhruv after investing the money in a sports shoe business, as per reports. Chopra had filed an FIR under IPC section 406 (criminal breach of trust) on Saturday, November 4 against Kamlesh and Dhruv Parikh at the Hariparwat Police Station in Agra.

The case report, as per the Times of India, revealed that Dhruv had received INR 57.8 lak h from Chopra to invest in a sports shoe business. The deal included that Chopra would receive the money within 30 days, but one year later less than 50 per cent of the amount was given back to the former Indian cricketer.
Chopra, in the report, was quoted saying, “We entered into a formally notarised agreement which stipulated that Dhruv was to return the money within 30 days with a 20% profit, and post-dated cheques were provided for recovery. However, a year later, only Rs 24.5 lakh has been returned, and two issued cheques were dishonoured.”

Aakash Chopra had been in contact with the main accused in the case-Kamlesh-who had promised he would pay the sum to him, on his son's behalf. But when Chopra did not receive the amount, legal notices were issued. The father and the son shut down all communication with Chopra which led to him losing INR 33.3 lakh.
