Indian head coach Igor Stimac announced the list of 50 probables selected for the AFC Asian Cup 2023 scheduled to take place in Qatar from January 12 to February 10.  The list was released on the Indian Football Team  X (formerly known as Twitter) account and is comprised of five goalkeepers, 15 defenders, 15 midfielders and 15 forwards.

The Indian football team is part of  Group B with Australia, Uzbekistan, and Syria. Blue Tigers' campaign kicks off on January 13 against the Aussies followed by the  Uzbeks five days later before concluding the group stage against Syria on January 23. 

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Round of 16  while the four best third-placed finishers (out of six) will also reach the next stage.  India will have its set camp for the tournament starting on January 30 and will directly travel to Doha, Qatar, to begin their preparation.
