Afghanistan secured their maiden World Cup semifinal spot as they defeated Bangladesh (8 runs) in their final Super 8 fixture of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. In their knockout clash of the tournament, they will be up against South Africa on Thursday, June 27. 91-run win over Sri Lanka in 2018 Asia Cup
Afghanistan took down Sri Lanka in the 2018 Asia Cup in Abu Dhabi by a huge margin of 91 runs. In the game, Afghanistan batted first and posted a total of 249 runs, owing to a fantastic 72-run knock from Rahmat Shah. The bowlers did rest of the damage and bundled out their counterparts for 158. Rashid Khan, Gulbadin Naib, Mohammad Nabi, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman picked two wickets each.
