The Indian all-round cricketer Hardik Pandya will reportedly miss out on the tour to South Africa after the home series against Australia due to an ankle injury. The 30-year-old sustained the unfortunate blow while diving to stop the ball in his follow-through during the ODI World Cup 2023 game against Bangladesh last month.

Hardik Pandya was replaced in the Indian squad by Prasidh Krishna for the remainder of the CWC 2023. The star cricketer had checked into the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to rehabilitate from his ankle injury, where the medical team took a call to not risk him in the ODI World Cup 2023, ruling him out of the flagship tournament.

As per the report from the Indian Express, Hardik Pandya felt pain on his right ankle while bowling in the nets as part of his recovery process at the NCA. It led to the medical team getting more scans done on his right ankle, but they are yet to decide if he needs surgery for his injury.

With that, the reports emerged about Hardik Pandya in regards to him missing out on the five match T20I series at home for India against Australia immediately following the ODI World Cup 2023. And now, it is likely that the 30-year-old is not going to travel to South Africa to play the three match T20I series, followed by the three match ODI series, which will kick-off on December 10.
