In IPL 2013, Virat Kohli replaced Daniel Vettori as RCB captain and remained in the role till 2021. During his tenure, Virat led the team in 143 matches and won 66 of them with a win percentage of 46.15. The best result for Virat as a captain and player came in 2016, when he led the team to the final, scoring the most runs (973) in an IPL season. However, the club lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2016 final in Bangalore.
