Former India captain Virat Kohli scored his second straight half-century at the Asia Cup 2022 as Pakistan defeated the Indian team in a thrilling encounter. But despite the loss, Kohli’s composed knock of 60 runs received a lot of praise from cricket fans all over the world.

Similarly, Kohli’s family members including his wife Anushka Sharma and sister Bhawna Kohli Dhingra celebrated this incredible performance on social media. Anushka posted a picture of Virat with a red heart emoji on her Instagram story, while his sister Bhawna shared a picture of the India batter with clap emojis.

Virat Kohli played a great 60-run knock and helped the Indian team post 181 in 20 overs. Kohli's innings had four fours and one six as he scored with a strike rate of  136.36 . The Delhi-born batter has scored 154 runs in the three matches of the ongoing Asia Cup as he had scored an unbeaten 59 in the previous match against Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, one of the reasons for India’s defeat was the dropped catch by pacer Arshdeep Singh, who also bowled the final over. The youngster was subjected to a lot of hate on multiple social media platforms for his mistake. However, Kohli backed Athe young pacer and explained the emotions a cricketer goes through when he/she commits a game-costing mistake.

"Under pressure, anyone can make a mistake. It's a big match and the situation was tight. I remember when I first played in the Champions Trophy. Against Pakistan, I remember I hit a very bad shot off Shahid Afridi. Till 5 am next morning, I was only staring at the ceiling, unable to sleep. I thought I'll never get a game again, my career is over. So it's natural to feel like this (disheartened).

"When the team environment is good then you learn from it and when such an opportunity comes up again, you look forward to it, hoping the ball comes to you. I think I'd credit the management and captain for that team environment. They've created such an environment that the players feel if such an opportunity comes up again, we want it, that moment. The environment is good where you address your mistakes, accept it and look forward to being under the same pressure situation," Kohli said.
