Former Team India player Yograj Singh feels Arjun Tendulkar should focus more on his batting instead of bowling. In January, Arjun hit the headlines for switching his domestic side Mumbai to Goa. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun is part of Mumbai Indians’ (MI) camp in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since 2021 but has got a chance to appear in only five matches. This year, MI haven’t included Arjun in their playing XI in any contest. Amidst these developments,Yograj, who coached Arjun in the past, has said if his son Yuvraj Singh imparts training to the 25-year-old, the youngster can emerge as the next Chris Gayle in international cricket.
Speaking to CricketNext, Yograj remarked, "With regards to Arjun, I said, focus less on his bowling and more on his batting. But if Yuvraj – he and Sachin are so close – takes Sachin's son under his wings for three months, I bet he will become the next Chris Gayle. Often it happens that a fast bowler, if he undergoes a stress fracture, cannot bowl as effectively. I think that Arjun should be handed over to Yuvraj for a while."
Sachin Tendulkar turns 52 on April 24
Arjun’s father and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar turned 52 on April 24. The Master Blaster served Team India for 24 years from 1989 to 2013. After his 12 years of retirement, no batter has got success in surpassing his record of most runs in Test and One-Day Internationals (ODI).
Back in 2011, when India won the World Cup 2011, the Master Blaster amassed 482 runs in nine matches at an average of 53.55 and ended up as the second-leading run-getter in the tournament. He was last seen leading India Masters in the International Masters League (IML) T20, which was played from February 22 to March 16.
