Premier League club Arsenal have reportedly made a €40 million offer to sign Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio, according to a report by Spanish outlet. The Spaniard's contract at Madrid expires at the end of the next season and the club is unlikely to extend his contract.

Apart from the Gunners, Italian heavyweights AC Milan have reportedly made a €30 million offer for the 26-year-old winger. Asensio has scored 12 goals in 42 appearances, making him the third-highest goal scorer for Real Madrid in 2021-22 season.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti might've wanted to part ways with the forward but Mikel Arteta has a different opinion for the player. With a surety of more game-time, Asensio would look to accept the deal from Arsenal or AC Milan this summer.

Arsenal have signed Ivory Coast international Nicolas Pepe for a club-record £72 million from Lille in 2019. However, the winger hasn't made a significant impact at the Emirates and could depart in the summer transfer window making way for the Real Madrid winger.

The Premier League club has secured 5th position in 2021-22 Premier League standings and qualified for the UEFA Europa League. The Gunners have recently signed Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus for £45m adding depth to their attacking options. Considering the attacking options at the Emirates, AC Milan are more safer option for Asensio regarding the game-time.
