Arsenal forward Kai Havertz is reportedly set to miss the rest of the season due to suffering a hamstring injury during a mid-season training camp in Dubai, the UAE recently. With this injury setback, Arsenal won’t have a recognised striker to call upon until the end of the 2024-25 season, which could be a big blow to their Premier League title hopes, especially with Liverpool in unrelenting form at the summit of the English top flight over the past few months.

Notably, the news regarding Kai Havertz’s torn hamstring was first broken by Athletic, and in the last couple of days, it is understood that he won’t be able to recover in time to play any further part for Arsenal in the ongoing season. As per the latest report from BBC Sport, the sources close to the player expect him to undergo surgery after he made his arrival to England from the UAE a couple of days ago.

Arsenal have long list of injured players in attacking front

Apart from Kai Havertz latest injury, Arsenal already have a long list of players on the shelf, including Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka, who have undergone ACL and hamstring surgeries respectively. Meanwhile, Gabriel Martinelli had also injured his hamstring during an EFL Cup defeat against Newcastle United last week, which is why he is expected to be sidelined for more than one month.

Moreover, during the ongoing 2024-25 season, Kai Havertz has played 34 matches for Arsenal, and he has emerged as the top-scorer for the club with 15 goals, apart from providing five assists as well. The absence of Kai Havertz is expected to be a big one for the North London club especially since they were unable to sign any reinforcements in attack in the recently concluded January transfer window.
