In the ongoing match between Sri Lanka and India in Super Fours stage of Asia Cup 2023, Sri Lankan spin bowling attack have bundled out Team India for a total of just 213 runs and looks like Sri Lanka might be able to register a victory in this game. Notably, Sri Lanka are on a roll with a 13-match winning streak in ODIs and it will be interesting to see whether they would be able to continue this run or not.

Here, in this article we will see whether Sri Lanka can still be eliminated from the Asia Cup 2023 final despite winning against India.

Remaining schedule of Asia Cup 2023 (Super Fours):
SL vs IND in Colombo (RPS), 12th Sept
SL vs PAK in Colombo (RPS), 14th Sep
IND vs BAN in Colombo (RPS), 15th Sep

If Sri Lanka beat India, then they move to 4 points in the Super Fours table of Asia Cup 2023.

Now, in the remaining two matches, if Pakistan beat Sri Lanka on 14th September, then they can also reach 4 points in the Super Fours points table.

Similarly, if India beat Bangladesh on 15th September, then they can also reach 4 points in the Super Fours points table of the Asia Cup 2023.

If all these happen, then Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India will be tied with 4 points in the table after playing three games each in Super Fours.

Now among those three sides (SL, PAK, and IND) only the two sides with better NRR will play the final of Asia Cup 2023. Hence there is a chance that Sri Lanka could miss out on playing the final match due to net run rate constraint.
