After multiple rain delays and two days of play, Team India finally registered its first win in the Super 4s stage of the Asia Cup 2023. Batting first, Men in Blue got off to a blistering start with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill posting a massive 121-run opening stand. But after the openers departed, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul took control before the match was halted in the 25th over on September 10.

But as the play restarted on September 11, the former Royal Challengers Banglore duo lit up the R.Premadasa Stadium with the highest partnership in Asia Cup history. Rahul and Kohli scored centuries and helped the Indian team post a massive 356-run total.
Unfortunately for Pakistan, the Men in Green couldn't replicate India's heroics with the bat and were seen struggling at 47-3 in 11.4 overs. Soon after another rain delay, the Indian bowling led by Kuldeep Yadav ran through the remaining Pakistan batter to register a historic 229-run victory. Yadav picked up figures of 5-25 in eight overs.
