Indian athlete Murali Sreeshankar finished second and won another silver for India in the men's long jump event at the 19th Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China. Sreeshankar recorded a jump of 8.00m to find a second podium finish in the continental showpiece on Sunday, October 1. His compatriot Johnson Jeswin Aldrin finished eighth in the same event with his personal best of 7.76m.

Nandini Agasara and Seema Punia clinch bron ze in women's heptathlon and discuss throw
The Indian athletes were on absolute fire on Sunday, October 1, as Nandini Agasara won bronze in the women's heptathlon.
On the other hand, the previous champion Swapna Barman had a forgettable outing after she finished fourth in the same event. Speaking of Punia, the 40-year-old bagged a bronze with her throw of 58.62m. Another Indian athlete Jyothi Yarraji, participating in the women's 100m hurdles final, managed to find a podium finish after getting ejected for a false start.
The 24-year-old was later allowed to race and with it, she managed to finish third after clocking 12.91s. However, the final result is subjected to review.
