The Indian pair of Dipika Pallikal Karthik and Harinder Pal Sandhu defeated Ka Yi Lee and Chi Him Wong of Hong Kong 7-11, 11-7, 11-9 in 38 minutes at the Asian Games in Hangzhou to qualify for the mixed doubles final in squash. With this victory of the India pair on Wednesday morning, Dipika and Harinder assured at least a silver medal for India.

Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal's pair will now face Malaysia's Aifa Binti Azman and Mohammad Syafiq in the mixed doubles final in squash on Thursday at the Asian Games 2023.

On Wednesday, India surpassed their previous best of 70 medals in the 2018 Games as they crossed the mark with a first-ever gold in Archery at the Asian Games 2023.

After losing the first set, the Indian duo of Dipika Pallikal Karthik and Harinder Pal Sandhu held their nerves and fought back to win the match in the next two rounds. The last game was tied at 9-9 as Sandhu delivered a sensational performance to win India the next two points and guide his team into the final.

On the other hand, t he Indian pair of Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh lost their semifinal against Aifa Binti Azman and Mohammad Syafiq of Malaysia to settle for bronze in the mixed doubles event in squash.
