Automobile giant Audi’s entry into Formula One has been put under review by the German manufacturer. Audi is set to come into F1 by taking over the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 team in 2026. Currently, the team with Valetri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu uses the Alfa Romeo Sauber name but from next year, it will go back to its Sauber until being identified as Audi in 2026.

But as per recent reports, Audi’s parent company Volkswagen has revealed their F1 plans will be "analysed in detail" in the wake of a management change and cost-cutting measures as confirmed by Spiegel. The German publication further asked Audi to comment on the report, which revealed the plan for Formula One entry was agreed by its management and supervisory boards and its parent company and that the timetable remained unchanged.
Previously, another report about Audi aborting its plans to enter Formula One surfaced in the French media. But the German automobile giant shut down these speculations and released a statement confirming the plans remain unchanged as the organisation has continued its work on the 2026 F1 Power Unit in Neuburg, Germany.
