Australian cricket team has reached Pakistan for a historic series. The Kangaroos will play the Men in Green after a wait of long 24 years. While teams like New Zealand and England pulled out of their respective tours citing security threats as a reason, Cricket Australia agreed to tour the subcontinent for an all-format series.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also ensured their counterparts of full security to their players and staff. But a recent mishap has sent alarming signs into the Australian camp. Reportedly, Ashton Agar who is a part of the Pakistan Test squad has received a death threat in Pakistan. The Sydney Morning Herald has reported that Agar's partner, Madeleine, was sent a message on Instagram containing a death threat for the spinner.

"The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age can reveal that a message was sent to Agar’s partner, Madeleine, on social media, which was immediately reported to CA and the PCB," wrote SMH in its report.

The report further claims that the account was found to be fake and potentially from India upon investigation by team security. "A team spokesperson confirmed Agar was the subject of the death threat, but team security has investigated and do not believe it is a credible threat. There is a suggestion it is from a fake Instagram account, potentially from India," the report adds.

The report, however, does not mention the messages received by Agar's partner. But as per available information, the message was sent under the username "joyt.isharma391". The content of the message is also going viral. The user first asks Agar's partner about her well-being and then threatens her about Agar's life. The user also mentions the Taliban in its message.

Notably, New Zealand had called off its tour to Pakistan midway after receiving a similar kind of threatening message. The New Zealand Cricket Board had not revealed the name of the user who had sent the message. Interestingly, at that time as well, PCB had traced the user to be from India.
