Of all the priceless and startling Australian batting talents to have amazed the sport and its fans all these years, there are quite a few who haven't quite done too amazingly here at the venue of the WTC 2025 final: Lord's Cricket Ground.
And remember there are always these big, un-put down-able names such as Mark Edward Waugh, Stephen Rodger Steve Waugh, Adam Gilchrist, Matt Hayden and the likes.
But tell you what, there are also some interesting names who have performed so well at Lord's that they've earned more respect and credibility given their skill set and performances as a result of having scored unabashedly at cricket's most iconic venue.
Having said that, which Australian batters do you think have scored the most number of runs at the famed Lord's Cricket Ground?
Steve Smith
The legendary Australian batter, a part of the Fab Four of the current generation of cricketers, actually has an unbelievably pleasant and confidence-boosting record at the Lord's Cricket Ground.
For someone who scored a third of his Test career runs against England, it's not even hugely surprising that Smith, a confident and unflappable right hander, scored quite a plenty at Lord's.
With two centuries and two fifties from five Test matches, Smith scored 525 runs at the coveted ground, including a personal best score at this venue being 215.
So how many more can he add to his burgeoning Lord's run tally then?
Sir Don Bradman
There are some things that seem suspicious in the natural course of life, but then there are always things that are elementary.
To illustrate by an example, it would suffice to state that somewhere it would be surprising to note that someone as formidable as an Australian cricket team lose to Namibia or Austria in an ICC event, but what would always draw the usual smile and awe would be note Sir Donald Bradman as being the highest run scorer at a particular venue for his team Australia.
Which brings us to the point that where it comes to Lord's, it is Sir Don who's scored the second-highest aggregate of Test runs from his Australia stable. In scoring 551 of his career runs at Lord's, Sir Don played like one.
Michael Clarke
Michael Clarke, the Thomas Shelby of modern Australian batting, an art that drew its power from being agricultural in its stroke-making as well as based itself on the principles of attacking even fast bowlers. They don't make batters like the right hander anymore - do they?
The former Australian captain hit, would you believe it, 416 Test runs at Lord's from just five Test matches.
Allan Border
Not De Villiers, not the underrated Jim Allen either; but cricket's first and original "AB" Sir Allan Border finds himself on this prestigious list of Australian batters to have scored most runs at Lord's.
The graceful and courageous left hander scored during the course of his career for Australia, no fewer than 503 runs. But do you the key standout for AB in this feat of amazement? His batting average here at Lord's was over 100.
