Former Pakistan pacer also reckoned as ‘Rawalpindi Express’ has taken a jibe at the Men in Green skipper Babar Azam. The former Pakistan cricketer, who reached Colombo ahead of the Pakistan vs India Super 4s clash, saw rain call off the match on the scheduled day. However, the match is now moved to reserve day, where India will resume their innings.

Amidst this move, Akhtar called this as “wise decision”, hitting out the Pakistan skipper after Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill provided a brilliant start to their side. Emphasizing on how rain saved India during the Group stage match against Pakistan, the former spearhead added that this time it saved Pakistan.

“Well. I don’t see this starting again. Colombo ki baarish is crazy,” Akhtar captioned the post with a video. “B aarish be bacha liya humein, finally! Pehle India phass gaya tha humare aagey, baarish ne bacha liya. Aaj hum phas gaye the India ke samne, baarish ne bacha liya,” the Rawalpindi Express said.  He also spoke on Babar Azam's decision of opting to bowl first seeing the weather forecast.

Talking about the match, Babar Azam invited India to bat first after winning the loss earlier in the match. However, rain forced the match into the reserve day with only 24.1 overs of play. India will now resume their innings from 147/2 on Monday, 11 September with high probability of rain still looming over.
