It was only four months back when International Cricket Council (ICC) decided to give out an award to the month's best performer, just like in football. And on Wednesday, the world cricket governing body announced April's nominees for the monthly honour. As many as 3 men and 3 women cricketers were nominated for the awards. Have a look at the nominations below.
ICC Men's Player of the month nominees:
Fakhar Zaman
In 3 ODIs, Fakhar has scored 304 runs with an average of over 100. This includes 2 centuries against South Africa. In the final match against them, he smashed a remarkable 193, losing out on a second double hundred just by 7 runs.
Babar Azam
Babar is always one of the stand-out performers for the Pakistan side. And the month of April was no different for the run-machine. At the rate of 76.00 in 3 ODIs, he scored 228 runs. In T20Is, Babar scored another 305 runs to his tally with an average of 43.57.
Kushal Bhurtel
This is the first time a player from Nepal has made it to the nomination list. Kushal debuted in April, and from the very start, he has been impressive with a total of 278 runs in T20Is at an average of 69.50.
ICC Women's Player of the month nominees:
Alyssa Healy
The Aussie wicketkeeper-batter has scored 155 runs in 3 ODIs against a strong New Zealand side at an average of 51.66.
Leigh Kasperek
The right arm off-break from New Zealand scalped 9 wickets in just 2 matches against Australia with the best bowling figures of 6 for 46.
Megan Schutt
The Australian quickie took 7 wickets competing against New Zealand. She also earned the best bowling figures of 4 for 32 in the first ODI.
