Nishant Dev one win away from securing Paris Olympics 2024 quota

World Championships medallist Nishant Dev is close to securing a quota for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics. The 23-year-old registered a dominant victory over Christos Karaitis of Greece to enter the quarterfinals of the first World Boxing Qualifier in the 71kg category.

India has so far secured four boxing quotas at the Paris 2024. Women boxers in Nikhat Zareen (50kg), Preeti Pawar (54kg), Parveen Hooda (57kg) and Lovlina Borgohain (75kg) obtained the quotas at the Asian Games last year. If Nishant Dev wins, he will become the first in men’s category to secure the Olympics quota for Paris 2024.
