Ahead of the first Test between Bangladesh and India, the hosts suffered a massive blow. India is set to take on Bangladesh in a two-match Test series, starting December 14, 2022. While the first will be player in Chattogram, the second and final will be played in Mirpur, starting December 22.

 

The hosts skipper Shakib Al Hasan was taken to the hospital on Tuesday morning, a day prior to the start of 1st Test. It was reported that the skipper suffered some stiffness and went for checkup instead of taking the field for practice. However, he did return in sometime, call on his inclusion in the first Test still awaits, head coach Russell Domingo revealed.

 

The BCB also informed via The Daily Star that an ambulance was called because there wasn’t any other mode of transportation while adding that the player is fine, and the injury isn’t anything serious. “It is nothing serious. Since there were no other transportation available so he was sent by ambulance”, a BCB official informed The Daily Star.

 

Taskin Ahmed doubtful for 1st Test

 

It is also being noted that Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed might not take the field for the opening Test. The 27-year-old said that he is not sure if he will be available for the 1 st  Test as he recovers from a back injury.
